“What Price Glory” is my salute to our country’s 250 Anniversary theme. The drawing is 8”x8” but the large dark areas took several hours to complete. The completed drawing took 43 hours. I was drawn to the subject and would find myself spending several hours each day working on the drawing. I was so touched by the soldier I felt compelled to add the blue color to the eye before the drawing was completed. I needed to feel the control it would have while viewing the face. Color is usually applied after all the ink is applied. The drawing is created with India Ink and watercolor.
